PDF-5+
PDF-5+ is the world’s most comprehensive Powder Diffraction File™ (PDF®) database. It combines the world’s largest sources of inorganic and organic diffraction data from crystals and powders into a single database.
PDF-5+ 2026 contains 472,300+ inorganic and 657,700+ organic entries to ensure that you have the data you need for all of your phase identification needs. Every entry is editorially reviewed and assigned quality marks, so the curated PDF-5+ database allows users to do quantitative analysis by any of three methods: Rietveld Analysis, Reference Intensity Ratio (RIR) method, or Whole Pattern Fitting.
PDF-5+ is designed for accurate materials identification, combining ICDD’s unique experimental and calculated data entries. It includes additional data from ICDD’s collaborative partnerships with Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CSD), Fachinformationszentrum Karlsruhe (ICSD), Materials Phases Data System (LPF), and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Are you working with inorganic materials such as cements, metals and alloys, batteries, minerals, and solid-state devices, or organic materials including pharmaceuticals, dyes, pigments, and polymers, or other materials? PDF-5+ has you covered. Not only can PDF-5+ be used for analysis of X-ray, laboratory, and synchrotron diffraction data, it can also be used for electron and neutron diffraction data. PDF-5+ is inclusive of all material and radiation types.
PDF-5+ will work with your diffraction analysis software; you can also use the included SIeve+, ICDD’s search-identification software. PDF-5+ is licensed for 12 months as a single PC license, and is also available for multiuser facilities as a 10+ user Server Edition License.
